Tasucu

Taşucu is a little town with Mediterranean style buildings and cobblestone streets on the coast of Cilician Mountains, Southern Turkey.

Get in

By minibus

There are frequent minibuses to the town from Silifke, 15 km away. They can be flagged down at the main road next to the 🌍 bus station. Silifke has buses to Karaman, which has daily trains between Adana and Konya, thence to Istanbul or Ankara.

By car

The town is served by D400, the main highway between Antalya and Adana. The road east to Silifke is wide and smooth, whereas the road west is narrow and very winding through the mountains to Alanya.

By boat

A car ferry operated by Akgunlerdenizcilik runs between Taşucu 🌍 ferry terminal and Kyrenia (Girne) in Northern Cyprus, taking six hours. According to the winter schedule in 2019, it departs three times a week from each city: from Taşucu on Sun, Tu & Th, and from Kyrenia M, W & F. Ferries for both destinations leave at 23:30. This is the only car ferry between Cyprus and Turkey, and the only ferry to run all year.

Get around

Taxis will charge you 15 TL from the ferry terminal to the bus station.

There is a supermarket near the yacht marina, not affiliated with any chains, and the prices are almost the same as anywhere else in Turkey. They accept credit card payments if your purchase is more than 3 TL, otherwise cash only.

There are two ATMs in front of the ticket-office at the port where the ferries leave for Cyprus; they look out of place and battered, but accept foreign cards and are in working order.

gollark: Hmm, you cannot receive RTMP in Javascript, there's probably something else.
gollark: There are protocols for lower latency, RTMP or something, but I don't think browsers support them without some heavy clientside JS and your server may not.
