Smythesdale is a town in Goldfields area of Victoria, 22km west of Ballarat on the Glenelg Highway. Scarsdale is a smaller town about 3km further south and west along the Glenelg Highway.

Scarsdale General Store has similar fare in the neighbouring town.

Court House Hotel. daily for lunch and dinner. weekend breakfast. Renovated timber and glass interiors. A view through glass right into the kitchens. Traditional pub fare, with more flair than usual. Watch the chefs pour the Guinness straight from the taps into the jugs destined for their beef and Guinness pies. $17-$25 mains.
