Pirongia

Pirongia is a little village about 30 minutes drive south of Hamilton, in southern Waikato, in the North Island of New Zealand. It is located at the base of Mount Pirongia. There is a little info centre in town that will give you hiking info and where to go.

Get in

Pirongia is about 30 km south of Hamilton and 12 km west of Te Awamutu, off State Highway 3 as it runs south from Hamilton to Otorohanga. For a more direct trip, get off the highways and take the country roads through Temple View and see the Mormon Temple in this area.
