Phon Phisai village is small, so it is easy to walk across town. Tuk-tuks can also be found, usually idling near the bus depot.

On the last day of Buddhist lent, usually around October, Phon Phisai is a great spot to watch the Mekong fireballs. These strange fiery balls of unknown origin attract large crowds of visitors each year.
