Get in

By plane

The nearest airport to Nonoichi is the Komatsu Airport in Komatsu. The Komatsu airport receives flights through JAL and ANA, and even a few international flights. From the Komatsu airport it is easiest to take the bus or train to Kanazawa.

By train

Nonoichi can easily be reached by using the local train. The train station is in the northern part of Nonoichi. Coming from Kanazawa, it costs only ¥190 (for adults) or ¥90 (for children). From there you will probably need to grab the local bus or the taxi to get to your destination.

By bus

Buses run from Kanazawa to Matto. Get on the bus at the Kanazawa Train Station and it will cost about ¥370 per person to get to central Nonoichi. When you get on the bus, take a ticket (or swipe your ICA card, if you have one). Your ticket has the number of the stop you got on at. At the front of the bus, you will see a chart which shows the number of the stop you got on at, and the price you must pay if you want to get off of the bus at the next stop. The prices will continue to increase the longer you are on the bus. When you need to get off of the bus, simply press the button closest to you, and put the money in the machine as you get off of the bus. As you get off of the bus, you must pay in exact change, but you can make change for yourself at the same machine before you pay. Put your exact change and your paper ticket in the slot at the front. If you're confused, just hand your money to the bus driver and he will help you out.

Walking and biking

Kanazawa is so close to Nonoichi that you can easily ride your bike or walk into town if you desire. Bikes can be rented from the Kanazawa Station if interested.

gollark: If you still just want "potentially interesting things to do" I can probably come up with some stuff.
gollark: What *sort* of challenge?
gollark: Have each person provide a few sentences or paragraphs.
gollark: Why not cut out the middleman and directly crowdsource the book?
gollark: I read 1 and 2, and don't really like them either to be honest. The writing is kind of clunky, and it does a lot of "oh look, a problem appeared! The protagonist just solves it with [weird interaction of various items, used once then forgotten about]".
