Newtown is a town in Connecticut.

History
In 1705, English colonists purchased Newtown from Pohtatuck Indians. It was known as Quanneapague. Newtown had been many trading and business ties to the English. On 14 December 2012, Adam Lanza shot his mother at home and went to Sandy Hook Elemantary School where he killed 26 people before killing himself.
The game of "Scrabble" was developed in Newtown by James Brunot.
