Mundaka

Mundaka is a town in the province of Biscay, in the Basque Country of northern Spain. It is famous for its specific wave.

Parking is scarce around the inner city. Beware also that many parking slots are marked for residents only.

By bus

Take the A3515 line of Bizkaibus (Bilbao-Amorebieta/Etxano-Gernika-Bermeo) from Bilbao.

By car

It takes one hour by car to arrive in Mundaka from San Sebastian by highway A-8, which connects San Sebastian and Bilbao and BI-635 from Amorebieta.

By train

Mundaka is a stop on Euskotren's Bilbao-Bermeo railway line.

The port is located in the central part of the town with medieval fisherman houses facing the sea.

Do

Mundaka is a world-renowned surf spot. One has to be careful considering the currents. If you don't know, ask the locals first at the nearby surf school. The wave can grow up to 4m and rise for 400m. The left wave is among the best of Europe.
