Montespluga

Montespluga is a hamlet in Italy. In the province of Sondrio, in the Lombardy region

The village in the high mountains

Get in

The village is situated on the Italian side of the Passo Della Spluga (German: Splügenpass) crossing from Italy to Switzerland and is the last town on the italian part of the Via Spluga, yet it is often cut off from both countries in winter. Milan is the nearest airport, yet Zurich is an option, but only in summer as the pass is closed in winter. From here a road is the only way to reach Montespluga.

Get around

This is a very small place , so on foot is the best way, there are no bus services in the village.

See

There are genuinely no major attractions in Montespluga, it is very much a activity place. The only real thing to see is the spectacular high mountain scenery as this is the border between the Rhaetian and Lepontine Alps.
