Do

McClellan itself is a converted Air Force base now mostly used for civilian applications, and still boasts an active airport. One of the major attractions is the Air Museum which boasts a very nice collection of aircraft on Static Display. Hours vary by volunteer availability so call to verify if your visiting.

Buy

While McClellans Base Exchange and Comissary (sp?) are open to Military families they are not open to the public. However the Coffee shop and gas station are civilian run and are open to all.

Eat

A small coffee and tea shop is across the street from the Base Exchange, and the Lions Gate Hotel has what is described as very good food for a bit on the pricy side. Anyone have input on this? Outside the base are all the foods you expect and a large assortment of fast food and dining establishments along Watt Ave.

  • Sacramento. It nearly impossible to visit McClellan and not head into nearby Sacramento.

gollark: I see.
gollark: (this would be a rounder number, and is thus right)
gollark: 27 minutes? Not 37 minutes?
