Marang
Marang is a port town in Terengganu, not to be confused with its near-namesake Merang.
Get in
- Drive from any point along the East Coast Highway or take a bus from Kuala Terengganu
Get around

- Kapas Island
Do
Swim at the local beach or take a stroll from the bridge crossing the waterway, passing a few seaside village houses, and come back via a wooden bridge a few hundred meters away. Lovely scenery here.
Drive around and visit fishing villages. Fishing boats seen from the jetty to Pulau Kapas can be reached via the trunk road to the south, crossing the river, and turning left towards east.
Buy
Marang has a small but good pasar (bazaar) near the ferry landing. Get some bananas, rambutan, etc.

Local Malay fare and roti canai (flipped pancake) available.
