Los Gigantes

Los Gigantes is a resort and also the name of a some cliffs in Tenerife.

Get in

Los Gigantes is well connected by roads (and the TITSA public transport system), and the easiest way to get in is either by Tenerife South Airport/Reina Sofia Airport (TFS IATA) or by sailing into the resort's marina.

Get around

The best way to get around the resort of Los Gigantes is by foot, however, if you wish to get up or down from Puerto Santiago it is advisable to get a taxi, which are reasonably priced, due to the steep hills.

See

Los Gigantes has notable cliffs in view of the resort and a picturesque marina.

Masca

The nearby village of 🌍 Masca is very traditional, but can take an hour to drive to, due to the shapes of the roads and the fact it is on the otherside of the cliffs. Parking in this village is very limited and it may take a while to find a space.

The Masca valley hike is possible to arrange comfortably from Los Gigantes. Boats operate between the marina and the beach of Masca (the end of the hike from the village).

An on-the-budget itinerary starts by taking a public bus to Santiago del Teide (e.g. line 325, exit the bus at the church - 3rd or 4th stop in the city), followed by a public micro-bus to Masca (line to Buenavista del Norte, line 355), and going back by boat (takes about 15 minutes). The bus from Santiago may get full (esp. the one at before noon), but there should be taxis waiting nearby. Taxis directly from Los Gigantes to Masca should cost around 25 eur, compared to approx. 5 eur for the bus.

One of the companies providing the boat service is Masca Express . They have offices in the marina, nearby bus station in Santiago and it is also possible to buy tickets directly at the beach. Reserving via internet upfront gets you a few euros discount, and it should not be a problem to shift departure time, should you arrive at the beach sooner than planned. It is possible to take a longer boat trip, which is then combined with fish-watching at the sea.

Do

Many excursions are run from Los Gigantes for things such as whale watching.

It is also worth going to Loro Parque, which is some distance away in Puerto de la Cruz on the other side of the island. It has many kosher restaurants

A natural swimming pool is accessible from Calle Magnolia.
