Lahinch

Lahinch is in County Clare and a busy seaside resort on the Atlantic west coast and also a popular destination for surfers. The town is based approximately 10 kilometers (6 miles) south of the world-famous Cliffs of Moher.

Get in

By car

Lahinch is about 30 kilometres (19 mi) from Ennis. Take N85 as far as Ennistymon then left turn onto the N67.

By bus

The Bus Γ‰ireann 350 service between Galway and Ennis passes through Lahinch several times per day.

Get around

Lahinch is a small town, easily navigable by foot. Bikes can be hired from Lahinch Adventures.

See

  • Cliffs of Moher and Aran Islands Cruises. Has a daily direct passenger ferry from Doolin Pier to the Aran Islands and they also do sightseeing tours to view the Cliffs of Moher from sea level.
  • Cliffs of Moher. One of Ireland's Biggest and Most Visited Tourist Attraction. The Cliffs of Moher are 230 meters in height and tower over the Atlantic Ocean.
  • The Doolin Ferry Company. Has a daily direct passenger ferry from Doolin Pier to the Aran Islands and they also do sightseeing tours to view the Cliffs of Moher from sea level.
  • O'Brien Line Ferries. Has a daily direct passenger ferry from Doolin Pier to the Aran Islands and they also do sightseeing tours to view the Cliffs of Moher from sea level.

Do

  • Surfing. With excellent breaks for experienced surfers on the left side of the beach (in front of the surf Shops) or learn to surf with the well organised and fun surf schools which are dotted throughout the town.
