Indramayu
Indramayu is a city and regency in the North Coast region of Western Java in Indonesia.

The city of Indramayu is located on a peninsula surrounded by the Java Sea, near the river mouth of the Cimanuk (or Ci Manuk, Sundanese for Bird's River). The city proper has a population of about 100,000. Its nickname is 'Mango City' (Kota Mangga) because there are many mango plantations in the area. The regency of Indramayu is much larger, and covers not only the peninsula but also the extensive farmlands and many towns villages to the south. The regency has a population of about 2 million.

By car
The major west-east Tol Cipali toll road runs through the southern part of the regency, about 50 km from the city of Indramayu. From the west, the toll road provides connections from the national capital Jakarta via Cikampek, while from the east the road runs from Central Java via the city of Cirebon. In addition, the trunk road National Road 1 (also known as Jalur Pantura, North Coast Route) runs through the city of Indramayu, and there is a direct road (National Road 7) between the city of Indramayu and Cirebon.
By train
There is no railway station in the city of Indramayu, but the main Jakarta-Cirebon railway runs through the regency, about 16 km south of the city. The nearest railway station to the city, and also the largest and busiest of the regency, is 🌍 Jatibarang railway station. The station serves about 20 trains per day to Central Jakarta (Gambir and Pasar Senen stations), of which one continues to the port of Merak. In the eastern direction, all trains call at Cirebon station, with many trains continuing to Central Java and sometimes East Java. In addition, there are two daily trains to Bandung. The trains calling at Jatibarang are in about 40% of the cases economy class trains, with the other trains being either business class, executive class, or a combination. From the station there are angkots (public minivans) in several directions, including to the city of Indramayu. Another option is to hire an ojek (motorcycle taxi).
By bus
There are several bus terminals in the regency of Indramayu. The main terminal in the city is 🌍 Indramayu bus terminal on the eastern side of town. There are regular buses to and from several bus terminals in Jakarta, and to and from Cirebon. In addition, there are several buses per day to and from other cities such as Bandung, Subang, and Tegal.

See
- 🌍 Karangsong beach (Pantai Karangsong), Jl. Pantai Song. The nearest beach to Indramayu city. Many fishermen bring their fish and shrimps to the shore here. There is also a mangrove forest, that can be reached easily from the beach by joining on the boat of a fisherman.
- 🌍 Tirtamaya beach (Pantai Tirtamaya), Juntinyuat village (along the main road towards Cirebon). This beach, about 15 km from the city, is popular among locals.
- 🌍 Biawak island (Pulau Biawak / Pulau Rakit). The very small Biawak island is about 40 km off the coast of Indramayu. In Indonesian, biawak means monitor lizard, as this animal can be found on the island. The island is a good destination for its beaches and snorkling. There is also a 65 metres high lighthouse built by the Dutch during the colonial time, in 1872.
