Idagunji

Idagunji (Kannada: ಇಡಗುಂಜಿ) is a city in Uttara Kannada district of Karnataka.

Idagunji is 480 km away from Bangalore, 140 km from Mangalore, 195 km from Goa. There are many bus connections available like Seabird, VRL, SRL, Sugama etc. Train (Konkan Train) connection is available from Mangalore.There are also Sleeeper/seater buses like seabird,VRL,SRS from bangalore to Murdeshwara,Honnavara,u can avail a minibus from there to idagunji which takes around 30 mins atmost.

There aren't really any good accommodations in Idagunji to recommend; better lodges and restaurants can be found in either Murdeshwara or Honnavara.

  • Murdeshwara is around 30 km from Idagunji. The beach offering watersports activities, and a very beautiful Shiva temple are the main attractions there.
  • Gokarna, around 70 km further from Mudeshwara, also has a beach and a temple dedicated to Lord Ganesha as well as a neighbouring one dedicated to Shiva.
