Hope (Arkansas)

Hope is a town in the Timberlands region of Arkansas. It is best known for its annual watermelon festival and for being the birthplace of former US President Bill Clinton.

By car

Hope is on Interstate 30, about 45 minutes east of the city of Texarkana bisected by the Arkansas/Texas border.

The nearest city of size is Shreveport, Louisiana. It is connected to Hope by Louisiana State Route 3, which becomes Arkansas State Route 29 over the border; and by Interstate 49 to Texarkana, where it intersects with Interstate 30. Both drives take less than 2 hours.

By air

Texarkana is the nearest city with an airport; it is served only by American Eagle with service to Dallas/Fort Worth. Shreveport has a larger airport with service by American, Delta, United, and Allegiant Air.

By rail

Amtrak serves Hope via its daily Texas Eagle route, running between Chicago and San Antonio with onward service to Los Angeles three timer per week. 🌍 Hope station is located in downtown at 100 E Division St.
