Had Yao

Had Yao, is a long beach in Krabi Province. It is in Taling Chan, a farmland area in the Nuea Khlong District. It is one of the last untouched beaches in the province, although the accumulated trash on the beach belies that fact. Despite that, it has some great views of Jum Mountain and Ao Nang's cliff walls in the far distance.

Understand

The drive down from Neua Klong to Had Yao goes through some of Krabi's rural backwaters. Beautiful old wooden houses on stilts sit alongside the road, while goats and chickens scratch around for food. The villages—mostly Muslim—are interspersed with rice paddies, mangrove forests and prawn farms. This is longtail boat-building territory, too: some of the finest craftsmen in the region hail from this part of Krabi.
