Gorodets
Gorodets (Russian:Город'ец, Guh-ruh-DETS) is a small city in Nizhny Novgorod Oblast.
Understand
The city is very old. Its foundation is dated back to the XIIth century. Few years on it was totally burnt down by the army of Batu Khan but soon was reestablished as the capital of a new princedom ruled by the third son of Alexander Nevsky. Emir Edigey of the White Horde destroyed the feudal state and the city was tagged as "empty Gorodets". Since then the city turned into a center of bread trade and wood utensil production.
