Dzhugdzhursky Nature Reserve

Dzhugdzhursky Nature Reserve (Russian: Государственный природный заповедник «Джугджурский») is a nature reserve in Khabarovsk Krai in the Russian Far East established in 1990. It covers 859 956 hectares on the shores of Okhotsk sea.

Middle range mountains covered with larch, fir and dwarf birch. Tundra also presents.

Flora and fauna

Flora and fauna numbers 211 mammals and 480 plants including 2 plants from the Red Book. The shore is a scenery rookery of sea animals.

Climate

Continental subarctic climate "characterized by long, usually very cold winters, and short, cool to mild summers.(Wikipedia)". Permafrost is melting in summer to 70 cm down. The warmest month is July averaging +15 °C (maximum +35 °C). Snow disappears in the end of May and starts in October.
