Debenham
Understand
Debenham is a large village, population around 1,700, lying close to the source of the River Deben (the river giving the village it's name). whilst only a large village today, in the Doomsday Book it was one of the largest habitations in the area. Many of the medieval buildings are hidden behind more modern facades. Some historic 14th & 17th century houses still line the streets though some were destroyed in the 1744 fire, resulting in the varying widths of High Street.

The village lies 6 miles to the E of the main A140 road to north Norwich and south to Stowmarket and the main A14 road.
