Bykhaw

Bykhaw (Bykhov, Bykhau, Bychow) is a town in Mogilev Oblast, Belarus. Once an important fortified place, it now has some interesting ruins to see.

  • 🌍 Bykhaw Castle (Быхаўскі замак). The ruins of 17th century Baroque castle. The construction started in 1610 under field hetman Jan Karol Chodkiewicz. The castle was strongly damaged during the war in the middle of 17th century and restored afterwards.

  • 🌍 Main Synagogue. A magnificent old synagogue, partly ruined and no longer active, but still well worth seeing.
  • 🌍 Holy Trinity Church (Царква Святой Троіцы). A nice wooden Orthodox church from the 19th century.
