  • From the Uganda border to Bukoba takes about one hour by bus.
  • There are daily buses from Kampala (7 hours). To Bukoba from Masaka in Uganda is 172 km.
  • There are daily buses from Mwanza (7 hours).
  • There are also a buses coming from Kigoma (13 hours).

By ferry
  • There is a ferry, MV Victoria, which departs from Bukoba to Mwanza at 9PM 3 times a week: Monday, Wednesday, Friday. The 2nd class sleeper fare is TSh 23,500 per person, and the trip takes about 10 hours.
