Andijk

Andijk is securely hidden behind the broad back of the West Frisian Omringdijk is the IJsselmeer village of Andijk. It is a typical West Frisian rural community, on the dike. Life here revolves around the water that the inhabitants have been passionately protecting against for centuries and at the same time they make clever use of.

The Andijkers take good care of their visitors. In this particularly beautiful place you will find two bungalow parks, a campsite and the hotel houses of the Restinn. If you come with your own (sailing) boat, you can drop anchor in the harbor with no fewer than eight hundred berths! Cyclists will enjoy themselves in the adjacent Vooroever recreation area with its extensive network of cycling and hiking trails. And during a rainy day you can visit the Polder Museum and the Saet and Cruyt Museum for some local history. Or go hat passes at the Hats Museum Put it on!

Events

The village almost bursts out every year in July during the Dijkpop festival. For more than thirty years this popular festival has been launched with more than 250 volunteers. A weekend full of happy faces, because "the Evening of Andijk" is held the evening before the festival. This is a children's party, a reunion for old West Frisians and a warm-up for the Dijkpop Festival in one.
