- 🌍 Camp Algona POW Museum, 114 S Thorington St, ☎ +1 515 395-2267. Apr-Dec: Sa-Su 1PM-4PM, M-F by appointment; Jan-Mar by appointment only. Algona was the site of a Prisoner of War camp during World War II that held 10,000 German prisoners. The museum is located in an old furniture warehouse and features a nativity scene constructed by the prisoners. $3, free for children 10 and under.
