Akyaka
Akyaka is a village in the province of Muğla in Turkey. It's a waterfront community on the Gulf of Gökova, an indentation of the Aegean Sea.
The nearby Gökova is a slightly larger town on the junction of the roads leading to Muğla, Marmaris, and Fethiye. Although giving the gulf its name, Gökova is a couple kilometres inland from the coastline.
The tourism industry and most travellers often use the names of these two villages interchangably, and with just a short distance inbetween, they can be considered one and the same.
Get in
The towns lie very close to the highway connecting Mugla (north) and Marmaris (south). It's about a 20-25 min drive away from Marmaris.
