Shooting

In the first hours of January 1, 1993 in Zrinski Topolovac in the clergy house was a New Year's party attended by about 40 people. During it, Vinko Palić and another man quarreled over the girl. After that, Vinko Palić went home, changed into a military uniform, took an automatic rifle and returned to the party. At the party, he shot dead 8 guests and injured 6 others. He also killed one police officer and wounded another when they arrived on call. The shooting lasted two hours. During the shooting, he spared the priest, saying «You, I won't, you're a priest». After the shooting, he committed suicide.[2][1][3]

Perpetrator

Vinko Palić (28) was a soldier of the 105th Brigade of the Croatian Army. He returned from the war two weeks before the shooting. Another weapon was found in his house.[1]

gollark: I couldn't say, I've never seriously done forest (or otherwise) arson.
gollark: I mean, it would be less arbitrary by some metrics to go "nothing is a person, human life has value 0" but people don't like that.
gollark: A more arbitrary rule might be better if it lines up with moral intuitions even.
gollark: That is still not actually objective. Also, threshold of probability on that?
gollark: The best you can do is pick a "less arbitrary" one somehow.
