Zaira Tatiana Nara (American Spanish: [ˈsajɾa ˈnaɾa]; born 15 August 1988) is an Argentine TV host and model.[2]

Biography

Sister of Wanda Nara, Zaira in 2010, according to FHM magazine, was ranked 47th of the world's sexiest women in 2010.[3] She is of Lebanese descent. Zaira Nara has modelled for brands such as: Herbal Essences, McDonald's, La Serenísima, Gillette, Pantene and Falabella.[4] She has also been featured in the cover of the Argentine editions of Cosmopolitan and Women's Health.[4]

Career

Zaira Nara was born in Boulogne Sur Mer, Argentina. She began her career as a child model and professionally in adolescence for the agency Dotto Models, but later in 2008 Zaira left Dotto Models to join "Chekka Buenos Aires", the agency of Mauricio Catarain in which Zaira won numerous advertising contracts to be the image of prestigious brands of clothing, lingerie and cosmetics.[5] Actually is part of Multitalent Agency. In 2010, Zaira competed as a contestant in the Marcelo Tinelli's show Bailando 2010, being eliminated 9th, and Zaira was the host of La Cocina del Show.[6] In 2011, Zaira won the pink soccer ball and replaced her sister Wanda in Bailando 2011 when the latter left the show because of her pregnancy.[7][8]

Personal life

On 9 March 2011, after 2 years of love story, Diego Forlán announced on his Twitter page that he and Zaira were engaged to be married: however, in June 2011,[9] Diego Forlán and Zaira Nara announced they were breaking their engagement[9] and she stated «Now what I can say is thank goodness I didn't get married!»[9] after the breakup. Zaira, from October 2011 to November 2014, was dating tennis player Juan Mónaco. Zaira got engaged to Jakob Von Plessen in April 2015;[10] this couple announced Zaira's first pregnancy in October 2015;[11][12] Zaira and Jakob have a daughter, Malaika Von Plessen, born on 1 April 2016.[13][14] Zaira announced her second pregnancy[15] during her live television program Morfi, todos a la mesa on 15 August 2019; Zaira and Jakob have a son, Viggo Silvestre Barón Von Plessen, born on 6 February 2020.[16]
