Yoko Kato
Yoko Kato is the first woman in Japan to become a professor of neurosurgery.[1] She is the founder of the Women's Neurosurgical Association (WNA) of Japan and of the Asian Women's Neurosurgical Association.[1]

Biography
Yoko Kato, born on 9 November 1952,[2] is one of the earliest women neurosurgeons in Japan.[3] She completed MD and residency at the Department of Neurosurgery, Aichi Medical University in 1978.[2] She was promoted as a full Professor at Fujita Health University to become the first female professor in neurosurgery in Japan.[1] In 1990, she founded the Women's Neurosurgical Association (WNA) of Japan. In 1996, she founded the Asian Women's Neurosurgical Association.[1]

Yoko Kato, MD was promoted to Professor at Fujita Health University in Aichi, Japan. Prof. Kato is the first woman in that country to become a full professor of neurological surgery. She is on the editorial boards of multiple neurosurgical publications, with research interests that include cerebral aneurysms and new vascular imaging. She was the founder of the Women's Neurosurgical Association (WNA) of Japan in 1990 and of the Asian Women's Neurosurgical Association in 1996
