Sambo career

Yaroslav Amosov had no prior interest in martial arts until he joined a sambo (martial art) club at the age of 16. While there, he trained at the Hermes Club in Kiev under coaches Fedor Seredyuk and Vadim Korytny.

Amosov made his first breakthrough at the international adult level in 2012 when he won the European Sambo Fighting Cup and subsequently achieved significant success in single combat. He became world champion for WCSF three times (in 2013, 2014, and 2015), and European champion for ECSF twice (2013 and 2014).

In September 2014, Asomov became the Professional Combat Sambo champion of Eurasia after defeating the Caucasian fighter Shamil Zavurov by submission.

Asomov has repeatedly won several combat sambo championships in Ukraine, and in March 2015, he became a Ukrainian sports-master.
