Yahya El Hindi
Yahya El Hindi (/ˈjɑːjɑː ɛl ˈhindi/;[2] Arabic: يحيى الهندي, Lebanese Arabic pronunciation: [ˈjaħja lˈhɪnde, -di]; born 24 September 1998) is a professional footballer who plays as a defensive midfielder for the Lebanon national team. Born in Australia, El Hindi is of Lebanese descent and has represented Lebanon internationally since 2019.

Starting his senior career in 2015 at Rydalmere Lions, El Hindi played for various youth clubs before joining Sydney Olympic in 2017, and Parramatta mid-2018 season. During the 2019 winter transfer window, El Hindi joined Lebanese club Nejmeh, before moving to Safa, another Beirut-based club, six months later.
El Hindi made his senior international debut for Lebanon at the 2019 WAFF Championship, against hosts Iraq; he was nominated Man of the Match.

Australian at birth, El Hindi also holds Lebanese citizenship due to his origins.[3][4]
Club career

El Hindi began his youth career at Fraser Park in 2014,[5] before signing for Rydalmere Lions the following year, where he would play for both the youth and the senior team.[6] After playing for Rockdale City Suns' youth team in 2016, El Hindi moved to Sydney Olympic in 2017.[7] Mid-season in 2018 he moved to Parramatta, where he played 10 games in the 2018 NPL NSW 2.[8]
Lebanon
On 4 January 2019, El Hindi signed for Lebanese Premier League club Nejmeh.[9] His debut for the club came on 26 January 2019, as a starter in a 2–0 league win over Racing Beirut.[10] He played six league games during the 2018–19 season,[11] as well as four games at the 2019 AFC Cup.[12][13][14][15] Safa signed El Hindi during the 2019 summer transfer window.[16]
International career
El Hindi represented the Lebanon national under-23 team during the 2020 AFC U-23 Championship qualification, playing once against the United Arab Emirates in a 6–1 defeat.[17] His debut for the senior team came on 30 July 2019, in a 1–0 defeat against Iraq at the 2019 WAFF Championship.[18] Despite the result, El Hindi was selected Man of the Match.[2]
