YL Ventures is a seed-stage venture capital firm led by managing partner Yoav Leitersdorf,[1] who founded the firm with John Quigley in 2007[2][3]. The firm has headquarters in San Francisco and Tel Aviv.[1] A main focus of YL Ventures is to introduce Israeli tech start-ups to the American market and develop a US customer base.[4] They also track the pre-development of Israeli tech companies, through an in-house intelligence team.[5] It focuses on cybersecurity development.[6][7]

Finances

As of 2020, YL Ventures manages $270 million across four funds, including a $120 million fund.[8] In 2018, YL Ventures managed $140 million across three funds, including a $75 million fund.[1][9] In 2011, YL Ventures sold AcceloWeb to Limelight Networks,[10] and in 2013 they sold Clicktale to Amadeus Capital Partners.[3] In 2019, YL Ventures sold Twistlock to Palo Alto Networks for $410 million. Other investments and sales include FireLayers, which was acquired by Proofpoint; Hexadite, which was acquired by Microsoft; and BlazeMeter, which was acquired by CA.[2][11] YL Ventures was also an investor in Upstream Commerce, which was acquired by Walmart in 2018.[12]

Its investments include Seculert.[13]
