Wichita (2014 film)

Wichita is an independent Western thriller film written and directed by Nicholas Barton.[1] It was produced by Prestigious Films (the production company behind Queens of Camo) and was shot in Wichita, Kansas over 28 days.

Premise

A drifter, a fugitive, and a bounty hunter all land in the sleepy cattle town of Wichita, Kansas during the 1882 cattle runs and find out that there is far more than meets the eye in this Western/Noir.

Production

The film debuted on April 4, 2014, at the historic Orpheum Theatre in downtown Wichita. Theatre employees claimed it was one of the largest film screenings they have ever seen with a nearly sold-out theatre of almost 1400 seats. The film went on to premiere at over 30 cities throughout the Midwest including Tulsa,[3] Oklahoma City, Kansas City, Lawrence,[4] Salina, Joplin, Ponca City, and many more.

The film was shot in 4k on the RED Scarlet using Canon Cineprime lenses. Wichita stars Justin France, Karina Wolfe, Blake Webb, and Kenneth Mitchell. Principal photography was shot at Old Cowtown Museum in downtown Wichita and the Flint Hills Nature Preserve.[5]
