Synopsis
1940s New York. When Private Detective Virginia Martin is suspected of murdering a local call girl, she has two days to clear her name. Under the watchful eye of a police rookie - the alluring Betsy Sloane - the investigation that ensues draws our heroine into the familiar noir landscape of New York. In solving the case, the pair meet a number of quirky characters including a drunken sailor with a violent streak, a Police Commissioner with a secret vendetta and an ill-tempered showgirl called Jinx de Luxe.[1]

The film was released on 8 July 2006 at the Melbourne Underground Film Festival.
Reception
The film was a hit with critics, with some saying that it "heralded the rebirth of the Australian shorter feature film" and that it was an "accomplished homage to film noir. Katy Manning won Best Supporting Actress at the Melbourne Underground Film Festival for her role as Miss Harrington.[2] The film was given several awards as it toured the festival circuits.[3][4]
