We Are Klang

We Are Klang is a comedy sketch show that was broadcast for one series in 2009, between 30 July to 10 September on BBC Three. The show was a TV version of the comedy antics of a three-piece comedy sketch group of the same name, consisting of the comedians Greg Davies, Steve Hall and Marek Larwood, whose brand of comedy was noted for being anarchic and frequently rude,[1] but which earned them a Spirit of the Fringe award at the 2004 Edinburgh Festival Fringe show, and nominations for their show Klangbang in the 2006 if.comedy Awards (the one year the award went under that name) and the 2007 Chortle Awards, the latter for both 'Best Sketch, Variety or Character Act' and 'Best Full-Length Show'.[2]

The setting of the show, the fictional town of Klangbury, was partly filmed on location in Stalybridge, eight miles east of Manchester, with the group performing as councillors who regularly had to solve a serious issue in each episode or risk being fired by the town's mayor. Each episode saw them frequently performing songs and involving the audience (dubbed the "Department of Audience") for some of their sketches.

In 2010, the group attempted to launch a new variety show called "The Klang Show," but only a pilot was ever created which aired on 16 August on BBC Three.
