Walter Coulter
Walter McFarlane Coulter MC (1891 – 20 May 1917) was a Scottish amateur football right half who played in the Scottish League for Queen's Park.[2]

Personal life
Coulter grew up in the Danish West Indies, the son of a sugarcane planter and was sent to live in Scotland in 1894.[2] He was educated at Thornliebank School, the High School of Glasgow and the Royal College of Science and Technology.[2] After leaving school, Coulter served an engineering apprenticeship and prior to the First World War, he worked in the drawing office at Fairfield Shipyard.[2] Coulter served as a captain in the Highland Light Infantry during the First World War and was killed in an attack on Croisilles on 20 May 1917.[2] Two months previously, he had won the Military Cross for "conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty".[3] Coulter is commemorated on the Arras Memorial.[1]
