Vladimir Nagornov

Vladimir Porfirievich Nagornov (born November 29, 1956, Bogdashkino, Tsilninsky District, Ulyanovsk Oblast, USSR) — Soviet and Russian sculptor and portrait painter, Honored artist of the Russian Federation, people's artist of the Chuvash Republic.[1]

Biography

Vladimir Nagornov was born on November 29, 1956 in the village of Bogdashkino (Tsilninsky district, Ulyanovsk region). In his childhood he became interested in painting and sculpture.

In 1976 he graduated from the sculpture department of the Penza art school, in 1984 – Moscow state academic art Institute named after V. I. Surikov (workshop of the Professor M. F. Baburin).

Since 1977 he participated in the all-Union and regional exhibitions and took leading places.

In 1984 he settled in Cheboksary (most of his creations are connected with this city).

In January 2007, the Nagornov's exhibition was successfully held in Paris.
