Release

In response to the request of Ajith Kumar fans, the makers released a single track from the film on 10 December 2018, titled "Adichuthooku" which was sung by the composer D. Imman with lyrics written by Viveka. The song was released exclusively on the music streaming platform Gaana. The song is filled with catchy phrases, which talks about the innate valor of Maduraikaran (a native of Madurai).[1] The second single "Vettikattu" sung by Shankar Mahadevan and lyrics written by Yugabharathi, was released on 15 December 2018. The song "Thalle Thillalley" which was a folk number, sung by Anthony Daasan, and lyrics by Arun Bharathi was released on 20 December 2018, after the soundtrack release.

After the film's release, the makers released two singles from the film. These were basically theme music tracks, not included in the soundtrack album. The track "Thookudurai Theme" was released on 14 January 2019, and another track "Alapparai Theme" was released on 4 February 2019.

Critical reception

Behindwoods rated the album 2.75 out of 5 stars, stating that "Imman delivers a perfect mix of mass and melodies for Thala Ajith's Viswasam."[2] Firstpost gave favourable review stating that "D Imman delivers a partly enjoyable, partly middling album."[2] Filmibeat rated the soundtrack album with 3 out of 5, and also stated that "D Imman Hits The Bullseye With This Ajith Kumar Starrer!"[3] Thinkal Menon of The Times of India, reviewed that "The album, overall, is an above average fare which might go well with the visuals."[4]

gollark: How did com.com break that? People typing in just "com"? Wouldn't that just resolve to the top level domain?
gollark: I was looking at getting one of those when replacing my bad free .tk domain (there's nothing really wrong with the TLD beyond the registrar being kind of bad, but their free plan allows my use of it to be randomly cancelled and the DNS service is kind of awful), but I just got osmarks.net instead.
gollark: Anyway, while I don't think any 3-letter .com domains still exist, it turns out you *can* get a lot of [3-character jumble].[2-letter country code for some weird place] domains rather cheaply still.
gollark: According to this random internet website™ com.com is also mildly important because people may accidentally type it a lot.
gollark: I agree, I just never make mistakes.
