Vijaya Bapineedu

Gutta Bapineedu Chowdary (22 September 1936 – 11 February 2019), also known as Vijaya Bapineedu, was a magazine editor turned Indian film screenwriter and director, known for his works predominantly in Telugu Cinema.[2] He directed several block buster action films such as Maga Maharaju, Gang Leader, and Magadheerudu.

Personal life

Bapineedu was born on 22 September 1936 to Seetha Ramaswamy and Leelavathy in the village of Chataparru near Eluru. He graduated with a B.A. in Mathematics from C.R.R College in Eluru. Prior to film making he served as an editor for an entertainment magazine Vijaya.[3][4]

Death

Vijaya Bapineedu died at his residence in Hyderabad on 11 February 2019; he was 82.[1]
