Broadcasting career

Gomersall joined the Sky Sports News presenting team in the summer of 2005, having made the transition from reporter to presenter.[1][2]

Gomersall originally reported on events in and around the North West, and lists being at Anfield on the day Emlyn Hughes died as her most memorable assignment. A Liverpool fan, Gomersall explains: "I felt honoured to interview so many Liverpool legends about their beloved 'Crazy Horse'. All the former players started to just turn up without even being asked. It was a massive mark of respect to the man both they and the fans, including me, adored. It was a very emotional day but one I shall never forget."

Personal life

Gomersall was born in Cheltenham, Gloucestershire on 31 December 1971. She attended Cheltenham Bournside School, and Kingston University London where she gained her degree in English and Drama.

She lists football and cricket as her first loves but also enjoys athletics. As a schoolgirl she ran for Cheltenham district when her hero was Daley Thompson. Vicky used to play football for Fulham Ladies and still plays 5-a-side football.

Gomersall is a supporter of Liverpool and also follows Cheltenham Town.

gollark: Central planning *does not work*, because there are millions of people in a country with complex preferences, and a very complex interplay of production processes which need things from other processes to make different things.
gollark: I'm not suggesting we go for anarchocapitalism, just *not* some centrally planned system.
gollark: Or do Mars things.
gollark: Who want to go to Mars?
