Vanessa Tomlinson
Vanessa Tomlinson is an Australian improviser, artist, musician, composer, sound artist and educator,[1] she studied improvisation under the guidance of innovative improvisor George Lewis.[2] She is known for her work in the duo Clocked Out Duo with Erik Griswald.[3] Recently Clocked Out Duo performed "Time Crystals"[4] And "Ba Da Boom" percussion ensemble.[5]

Vanessa Tomlinson's most recent collaborative project "TOMLIN|FERGUS" is a duo consisting of Vanessa Tomlinson and Dr. John Ferguson, both academics from the Queensland Conservatorium of Music in Brisbane, Queensland. Tomlinson is the Head of Percussion at the Queensland Conservatotrium of Music.[6]

Career
Vanessa Tomlinson's latest project Sonic Dreams is a collaboration with Dr John Ferguson (Head of Music Technology at the Queensland Conservatorium of Music) which explores endangered soundscapes.[8]
“Sonic Dreams” is an imagination of lost and unknown sounds. This piece is composed for and dedicated to Grey-Wing Ensemble, a group of sonic investigators that live in Perth, Western Australia. All the sound worlds imagined in this work once belonged to this area of the world, and are now either extinct or critically endangered. TOMLIN|FERGUS is Vanessa Tomlinson (Head of Percussion at QCGU) and John Ferguson .[9]
