Valentina Leskaj

Valentina Leskaj (born on 1 November 1948) has been a member of the Assembly of the Republic of Albania for the Socialist Party from 1997 until 2017, when she decided that she would resign and leave politics.[1] From 2013 until 2017 she served as vice chairperson of the Parliament and on 24 July 2017, she took the office as acting head of the parliament, after Ilir Meta was elected President of the Republic.

Previously she has served as Minister of Labor and Social Affairs in the Nano Government from 2002 until 2004.[2]

On 26 January 2015 she was elected by the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe as Vice-President of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe.[3]
