VAAGDEVI COLLEGE OF ENGINEERING (VCE) is established in the year 1998 and it was sponsored by Viswambhara Educational Society in Warangal which has been established by few philanthropists and elite people with a view to impart technical education to students of rural background. Since its commencement, Vaagdevi College of Engineering has produced more than 15000 graduates who are technically sound in their fields and thus enjoy the enviable reputation among the reputed institutions. It has been constantly growing at par with top Engineering Colleges in Telangana state in every aspect including infrastructure, placements and strength of students as well. Our Engineering & PG College in Warangal is located in a sprawling area of 25 acres of land with picturesque surroundings prevailing serene and calm ambiance. It is situated on the Khammam highway about 10 km from Warangal railway station. Today Vaagdevi College of Engineering is known among Warangal B.Tech colleges for its academic excellence with well-planned classrooms, well-equipped laboratories, seminar halls and an auditorium with 500 seating capacity and built-in audio-visual aids.  We do have good sports facilities along with gymnasium. The college has a huge collection of books and also subscribes from various national and international journals. A state-of-art digital library has been established in order to provide access to NPTEL video lectures, several e-books and e-journals. The campus is Wi-Fi enabled with excellent and well-designed buildings with aesthetic beauty.

It gives us immense pleasure to share our happiness that our college has been granted the first Autonomous Engineering College status in Warangal by UGC, New Delhi for a period of six years from 2014-2015 to 2019-2020. Accredited by NBA, ISO 9001: 2015 certified institution and also acquired “A” grade in NAAC accreditation.  Our institute has been funded by Unnat Bharat Abhiyan-MHRD, to adapt nearby 4 villages.  We possess 27+ years of Experience in Education System. 100% ICT Enabled Classrooms are there along with 100% CCTV Surveillance  which includes classrooms, corridors, canteen and parking areas etc. Some of the infrastructure facilities are mentioned here for your information, which include 80+ State of the art Laboratories, 1500+ computers including 2 computer centers and 02 language labs, 8 Seminar halls and 01 auditorium, Indoor sports complex with Gym, a huge ground for outdoor sports and games. Very active co-curricular, Extra-Curricular activities and social awareness activities are there in our campus. Departments

Computer Science and Engineering:

The CSE department at Vaagdevi College of Engineering was started with 40 seats in 1998-99 and increased to 240 in the academic year 2012-2013. The department strives for academic excellence among top Engineering Colleges in teaching and focuses on research and technology development. The department of Computer Science and Engineering at VCE has a vibrant body of faculty with 66 in number. The main objective of the department is to provide a platform in which the stakeholders acquire knowledge about the advanced and emerging technologies. Department has several MOU’s with industry and academia. Our autonomous college maintains continuous interactions with the industry that helps our students to brace themselves to absorb into the industry and in abroad higher studies if the students opts for it.  M. Tech Computer Science & Engineering is one of the popular courses among engineering aspirants which focuses on the basic elements of computer programming and networking. Students pursuing computer science courses at Vaagdevi College of Engineering will gain knowledge of design, implementation and management of information system of hardware, software, theory of computation and design of computational systems.

Electronics and Communication Engineering:

The department of Electronics and Communication Engineering at Vaagdevi College of Engineering College has a top-level quality assessment rating for teaching and reputation for research among the B.Tech colleges in Warangal. It is established since the inception of the VCE College with the avowed intent and creating highly qualified engineers and researchers who can give a substantial contribution to the field of electronics and communication engineering. This department has strength of around a thousand students guided by a team of devoted and diligent staff members. Several postgraduate programs are offered by the department. The PG program includes DSCE, VLSI system design and WMC. The laboratories are at par with top engineering colleges in regards to maintenance and include VLSI design lab, DSP lab, Microwave engineering lab, Communication systems lab, MP&MC lab, linear & digital IC lab and other basic electronics labs.

Electrical and Electronics Engineering:

The department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering (EEE) established in 1998-99 at Vaagdevi College of Engineering with a sufficient number of academic and technical staff, committed for teaching and aimed to become research centre to provide post-graduate studies in electrical engineering. The department has been set up with well-equipped laboratories and library, meeting the requirements of being the best B.Tech College in Telangana state for undergraduates, postgraduates and research students. The UG program was accredited for three years with effect from the year 2009. The department has evolved with time and offered two post-graduate programs such as M.Tech –Power Electronics and M.Tech- Power System Control and Automation in the year 2003-2004.

Mechanical Engineering:

Mechanical Engineering department at our autonomous college in Warangal commenced offering UG program B.Tech - Mechanical Engineering in the year 2009 with an initial intake of 60 students, which was enhanced to 120 students in the year 2012 and to 180 in the year 2013 respectively. In the year 2014, the Institute became autonomous and the current intake of the department is 180. This department is also offering one PG program M.TECH Thermal Engineering with an intake of 24. The Department has a requisite number of faculty members who are striving to incorporate excellence in theory, practical’s and research. Undergraduate studies in mechanical engineering at Vaagdevi College of engineering are at a standard of a top Engineering College with the innovative, integrated and well-designed curriculum structure which gives students a solid foundation in core disciplines like mechanical, manufacturing, and thermal systems, together with essential areas of mathematics and physical sciences. Throughout the curriculum there are design courses, laboratory courses, and project courses which allow students to acquire a taste for the complex task of designing, analyzing, and building a device. Experienced and dedicated faculty of our autonomous college, more than 10% of them are holding Doctorates. Diversified specializations, and experienced supporting faculty members published a significant number of research papers in national and international journals, conferences. Our B.Tech autonomous college in Telangana state conducts Workshops and FDP’s in advanced mechanical engineering concepts. It is equipped with a wide range of CAD/CAM software like CATIA, CREO, ANSYS, AUTOCAD, FLEXSIM, etc. to cater to the UG/PG programs for design, modeling, and analysis of engineering products and research projects. VCE has a digital library to support faculty and students as support for projects and research by providing access to E-Journals, E-Books, textbooks, and project reports. Facilitated to manufacture complex parts with CNC Lathes and CNC Milling machine apart from the machine shop and workshop to carry out student and faculty research projects. VCE conducts training & Certification Courses in order to impart Skill development and enhance employability.

Civil Engineering:

Civil Engineering is a broad field of engineering that deals with the planning, design, construction, and maintenance of different structures like buildings, roads, bridges, canals, dams, water supply, and treatment systems, etc. The Civil Department at Vaagdevi College of Engineering was started in the year 2013 with an annual intake of 60 undergraduate students which was subsequently raised to the present annual intake of 180 students. The Civil department at VCE also offers one PG Course in Structural Engineering with an annual intake of 24. We are among the best colleges for civil engineering with state of the art lab facilities in the areas of Structural Engineering, Transportation Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Hydraulics and Surveying.

Master of Business Administration:

The Department of Business Management at Vaagdevi College of Engineering was established in 2007 in Bollikunta, offering two years full-time program in Business Administration with the annual intake of 60 students. Presently MBA course is being offered Autonomous status CBCS pattern and present intake is 180 students. Well qualified and experienced Faculty Members, Staff, Students and Management has led the department on to the path of academic excellence with a number of achievements during the last few years as one of the top MBA colleges in Warangal. It has been continuously contributing to the generations and spreading knowledge in the area of business and management to different target groups. VCE Students of management are being well placed in different reputed organizations. This department has excellent amenities as we expect from MBA colleges in Telangana state with an updated computer lab, library and classrooms for the students to make lectures interactive and interesting.

Basic Sciences and Humanities:

This Department of Basic Humanities and Sciences has a rich curriculum and allied activities to provide a comprehensive education for B.Tech graduates. It prepares them to be technically well-off along with critical thinking with universal human values which will make them productive citizens, and leaders in a wide range of careers like government as well as an array of managerial options in the private sector. During their study, students will complete rigorous programs of course work, participate in a variety of co-curricular programs within and with other top engineering colleges.

Library:

Central Library at Vaagdevi College of Engineering is an abode of knowledge with unlimited resources for faculty & students to study. We have introduced the CAMS software developed locally by customizing it to suit and meet the needs of the library from the year 2016-17, which has been successfully utilizing by the regulars. The software has been developed using the ASP.NET version. As far as automation is concerned, we could do it partially, and efforts are on to fully automate the library, till the year 2015-2016 the library was maintained manually. We have also established a digital library in the year 2013 with adequate systems in a separate hall to provide access to internet e-resources. Later during the year 2017-2018, we have extended the automated services to the circulation section successfully and developed OPAC for the users. Over the years with many updates we have transformed our library into inspiring and learning space to meet the expectations of the best engineering colleges with extensive collections that supports the teaching, learning and research need. We hold over hundreds of print books and journals in our library including our electronic collection of e-books and e-journals.

Facilities:

The following are the best facilities provided in our college with the most outstanding infrastructure with vast area which is comfortable to all the stakeholders like parents, students, faculty and management as well.

1.    Hostel:

Vaagdevi College of Engineering has a beautifully built up hostel campus where students are certain to feel at home. Currently, we are providing AC and non-AC rooms and a spacious dining hall for all the hostel residing students. The food served for our students is of great quality, in fact it’s a best meal which includes all nutrition’s along with yummy snacks as well. Our chefs take student surveys and feedback to create a tasty menu that is inclusive of different faith and dietary needs. • We have comfortable hostel facilities on campus and off-campus for both Girls and Boys.
• These facilities are limited at present and hence allocated on first cum first-served basis.
• Total capacity for Girls is 60 and for Boys, it is 100.  We have plans to expand its capacity in the coming years.

2.    Sports and Games - indoor and outdoor

Sports at Vaagdevi College of Engineering are incredible because of the different opportunities which are provided to everyone, those who are interested can take part. Students at VCE are free to find a level that suits them to train under our expert sports coaches or find friends who are at a similar level to learn. Annually we conduct several competitions within and with other top engineering colleges in Telangana. 1. Idea Crowning: A platform to express and share their ideas with teams and experts so that the idea could be assessed and viewed on solution which could be taken from experts and advisors

2.  Idea Filtration: Best of the ideas found to be feasible will now be tested and filtered out after consulting the technologists and other experts

3. Seed money: Incubates may apply as per the application process and follow the procedure to seek the seed amount from VIBA

4. Field test: The first interaction directly with the market to understand and grow further on the idea for implementation

5. Seed funding: Providing financial support to the startup for a said period of time from various sources

6. Marketing: Helping the startup to create market presence by having appropriate marketing services

7. Execution: Making to roll the ball i.e reaching the market and being in the real world with the much-awaited utility for the real world

8. Deployment Review: Understanding the lacuna in the process, product or any other matter which result in the functioning of startup and revising their action plan as per the discussion and approval from the board

9. Growth plan: Preparing an action plan for survival and to support as per the market assessment.  Also it gives an expert advice to become an independent unit outside VIBA

VIBA Services:

The following are the services that shall be offered to the startup or business registering for boosting or extending their business to the next level by VIBA:

1. Space and infrastructure: the startups and or business incubates shall have access to physical resources like allocated office space, computers, printers, scanners, telephone, which are used for the business operation.

2. Pool Connect: connects to the technology available technologists, technology buyers and technology sellers to all incubate. Thus facilitating optimizes the use of resources across the resource pool. These connects includes legal advisors, financial advisors, accounting, auditing and marketing etc.

3. Manifesting labs: this is an additional setup to optimize physical resource wherein incubates could work and build a prototype, test system outside of their own workspace on the pre-existing setup. This provides a scope for faster, safer and effective R & D to organizations and incubates.
