Urban Development Directorate (Uttarakhand)
Urban Development Directorate (UDD)[1] is the administrative department in the state of Uttarakhand. It is an autonomous state government agency responsible for urban planning and development control. There are 92 Urban Local Bodies in the state of Uttarakhand i.e. 8 Municipal Corporations, 41 Municipal Councils and 43 Town Panchayats.

The objective of Urban Development Directorate is to improve the quality of life in Uttarakhand and on preservation of their heritage. [2] There are four major schemes by Urban Development Directorate (UDD)
Schemes
- Atal Mission for Rejuvenation and Urban Transformation (AMRUT): The purpose of AMRUT is to provide basic services like Sewerage, Drainage, Water Supply, Urban Transport and build amenities in cities. Mission cities of AMRUT are Dehradun, Haridwar, Roorkee, Rudrapur, Haldwani, Kashipur and Nainital. The total population of AMRUT cities are 1509253 which constitutes of 49.49% of the state's urban population as per 2011 Census.
- Swachh Bharat Abhiyan-Urban: Swachh Bharat Abhiyan was initiated by Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi. It includes building toilets in each household, arrangement of dustbins for garbage, daily cleaning of roads, parks and other puplic places.
- Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana-Urban (PMAY): The primary mission of PMAY is to provide affordable houses to everyone by 2022. Subsidized cost, affordable houses in partnership with puplic and private sectors, promotion of houses to weaker section are the main benefits of PMAY. The mission is to provide EWS (30 sq meter), LIG (60 sq meter), MIG-1 (90 sq meter), MIG-2 (110 sq meter).
- National Urban Livelihood Mission (DAY-NULM): The purpose of NULM is to reduce poverty and vulnerability of the urban poor households by providing them employment and skill based opportunities. It provides Skill Development Training and certifications to individual candidates with an ample number of business opportunities.
Uttarakhand Mukhyamantri Pravasi Swarojgar Yojana 2020
Under the Uttarakhand Mukhyamantri Pravasi Swarojgar Yojana, loans will be provided for projects up to Rs 25 lakh in the manufacturing sector and up to Rs 10 lakh in the service sector. As per MSME policy, the maximum limit for margin money in classified category A will be 25 percent of the total project cost, 20 percent in category B and B and up to 15 percent of the total project cost in category C and D. - As you all know that there is a lock down situation due to coronavirus all over India, due to which migrant laborers from other states are trapped in another state, they are being brought back to their state.
- After the workers return, they have no employment to take care of themselves and their families. In view of these problems, the Uttarakhand Government has started the Uttarakhand Chief Minister Swarojgar Yojana 2020.
- Under this scheme, the state government will provide loans to migrant laborers to do their employment.
- So that he can take full care of himself and his family by doing his employment.

Benefits of Uttarakhand Mukhyamantri Swarojgar Yojana 2020
- The benefit of this scheme will be provided to migrant laborers in Uttarakhand.
- The migrant laborers of the state will be provided loans by the government through nationalized banks, regional rural banks, state cooperative banks and other scheduled banks to start their own industries.
- Under the Mukhyamantri Swarojgar Yojana 2020, the Government of Uttarakhand will encourage entrepreneurs and migrant people of Uttarakhand for self-employment.
- Under this scheme, the maximum cost of the project in the manufacturing sector will be Rs 25 lakh and the maximum cost for the service and business sector will be Rs 10 lakh.

Eligibility for Uttarakhand Swarojgar Yojana 2020
- Applicant must be a permanent resident of Uttarakhand.
- To avail this scheme, the minimum age of applicant should be 18 years.
- The applicant or his family member will be benefited only once under the scheme.
- There is no mandatory educational qualification under Uttarakhand Chief Minister Swarojgar Yojana 2020.
- The beneficiaries will be selected on a first come first serve basis, which will be based on the feasibility of the project on receiving more applications.
- Applicants, General Managers and District Industries Centers can apply online and manual.
- The applicant must not have previously taken advantage of any other self-employment scheme operated by the Government of India or the State Government within the last 5 years.
- Applicants from SC / ST, Minorities, Other Backward Classes, Ex-servicemen, women and PwD have to submit a certified copy of the certificate issued by the competent authority special category along with the application form.

- After going to the bank, you have to take the application form for the Chief Minister for the Mukhyamantri Swarojgar Yojana.
- After taking the application form, you have to fill all the information asked in the application form like name, date of birth, Aadhaar, mobile etc.
- After filling all the information, you have to attach all your important documents with your application form.
- After this, you have to submit the application form from the bank from where you took the form.
- After submitting the form, your form will be verified by the bank officer.
- You will be provided a loan after verification.
