Architecture

The church and its associated manse is constructed of locally-made red brick. It is a two-storey building with a gabled roof. The roof is tiled in Welsh slate and pantiles. A circular panel in the front elevation is inscribed 'Providence Chapel 1806', over which it is painted 'United Reformed Church'. A flat-roofed porch was added in 1859–1864.[1]

The interior retains elaborate plasterwork decoration and a nearly intact series of original box pews. It is the oldest surviving independent chapel in Lincolnshire with its original seating intact.[1]

History

The church was constructed in 1806 and closed in c. 1993.[2]

gollark: My limit is about three or four per paragraph, that isn't even close.
gollark: That's ONE SENTENCE, what is your problem?
gollark: Also, for mathy things I can randomly mess around on my calculator to try and numerically work out bits of the problem (which I am *pretty good* at, since I actually know most of the features of said calculator and how to combine them) and for computery things I can probably get somewhat working code done quickly and try and iterate on it.
gollark: That is probably much more learnable.
gollark: If that doesn't work I have actual internet searching abilities and do not have to ask people.
