Unchahar is one of five assembly constituencies in the Lok Sabha constituency of Rae Bareli Since 2008, this assembly constituency is numbered 183 amongst 403 constituencies.
Currently this seat belongs to Samajwadi Party candidate Manoj Kumar Pandey who won in last Assembly election of 2017 Uttar Pradesh Lagislative Elections defeating BJP candidate Utkrisht Maurya by a narrow margin of 1,934 votes.[1]
