Ukrainian White Steppe
The Ukrainian White Steppe (Ukrainian: Українська степова біла порода, Ukrajinska stepowa bila poroda) is a general purpose pig breed from Ukraine. It was developed in Askania Nova in 1925 - 1935 by M.F. Ivanov by crossing pigs native to southern Ukraine with Large White boars. The characteristics of the breed are a medium-sized head with slightly dished face, large ears drooping over the eyes, dense bone, strong legs, and white color. The breed consists of 15 boar lines and 55 sow families.
