Udders (ice cream)

Udders is a Singapore-based ice cream parlour franchise. Owned by David Yim, it was established in 2007. The company’s selling point is its local and liqueur ice-cream flavours. [1]

History

A former educator from Yishun Town Secondary School, David Yim established Udders in 2007, opening its first store at United Square.[2] In the first four months, the business did poorly but today, they have expanded to include five outlets.

Products and services

Ice cream flavours and names

Udders specialises in alcohol-flavoured ice cream, a niche in the Singaporean ice cream industry. [3][4] It also sells non-alcohol based flavours. In addition, it offers fried foods.[5] They also added Mao Shan Wang durian ice cream in 2008, which is a flavour unique to Singapore and which also happens to be their most popular flavour.[6] The chain encourages customers to suggest new flavours they would like, allowing them to participate in Udder’s ice-cream making process.[6] Udders caters ice cream and also organises ice cream-making classes.[7]

The Udder Pancake

The company opened a new café, The Udder Pancake, in November 2014.[8] The café serves pancakes with savoury meats and condiments.[9]

Services

The company organises ice cream-making workshops and provides ice cream-catering services.[10][11]

Operations

Udders currently has three outlets in Singapore. The franchise has announced plans to branch out into overseas territories, including Australia, China, and Indonesia.[4]

gollark: In potatOS I do #2. Unfortunately the sandboxing implementation is about 500 lines of code, very version-specific because it runs half the BIOS for weird internal reasons, and has several known holes.
gollark: There are two ways around this:- make your "OS" unable to run arbitrary code and instead use a highly limited shell/GUI- sane sandboxing via providing no/a limited FS API to environments where you can run arbitrary code
gollark: The crux of the issue is that people can via a variety of methods write and run code which can edit your thing even if you pointlessly meddle with the shell.
gollark: No.
gollark: Hahahahahahaha.
