Uche Odoputa

Uche Odoputa (born 23 September 1969) is a Nollywood actor and television personality. He has won a number of awards over the course of his acting career.[1]

Early life

Uche Odoputa is from Orlu, imo state in the southern part of Nigeria.[2]. He completed both his basic and secondary education in Lagos.

Career

In year 2000, he joined the Nigeria movie industry (Nollywood). He has acted in over 200 Nollywood and indigenous movies since joining the movie industry. Some of his movies includes; The Captor, Eagles Eye, odum na akwaeke, Brother's war, pains of poverty. Mr Odoputa has won several awards in the course of his career which include The Best Actor in a leading Role at the Africa Movie Academy Award, most Prominent Actor in Nigeria at the Africa Magic Viewers Choice Awards, Best Actor in Nigeria at the Golden Icon Movie Academy Awards and Most Promising Actor in Nigeria at the City People Entertainment Awards.[1]

Personal life

Uche Odoputa is married with kids and is based in Port Harcourt Rivers State, Nigeria. Asides from being an actor, he is also a model an entrepreneur and a philanthropist.[1] He has a foundation called The Uche Odoputa Foundation which engage in activities such as; Education for Orphans, Health services for the less privileged, financial support to widows for trading purposes.[3] In 2007 Mr Uche Odoputa was arrested by The Nigeria Drug Law Enforcement Agency(NDLEA) for drug trafficking and was jailed for two years and three weeks.[4]
