It is located on the south coast, between Agia Galini and Matala, and has a population of 10,000. In 2005, a major container harbor and free trade zone had been rumored to be built in the area. As of January 2009, it appears the project has been canceled, in part due to the strong opposition from the local population.[4]

gollark: Why spend money on expensive UPSes when you could run your servers on old phones?
gollark: My important stuff is replicated to my laptop, which is *relatively* portable.
gollark: USB sticks are quite easy to lose, and not hugely reliable.
gollark: That... sounds... problematic.
gollark: I don't really want to fiddle with cold backups (and don't really want to buy giant stacks of Blu-Ray discs or something), but also don't trust cloud services, so encryption seems sensible.
