Transfusion (cocktail)

The transfusion is a cocktail made from, e.g., equal parts vodka, grape juice, ginger ale or lemon-lime soda; a small amount of fresh lime juice, a lime wedge, and a fruit garnish (such as grapes)[1] or crystallized ginger.[2] Often it is served in a hurricane glass.[3]

Variations

Alternatively, it can be made with vodka, ginger syrup, lime juice, Concord grape juice ice cubes, and club soda. Alternatively, it can be made with vodka, grape juice, and Sprite or cranberry juice and ginger ale,[4] and (importantly) a squeeze of a lime wedge.[5] It can be garnished with other fruit as well,[6] and fresh mint sprigs.[7] The transfusion is a golf club standard,[8] since grape juice is more of a staple at golf and country clubs than at restaurant bars.[5]

The transfusion mocktail is identical to the cocktail but does not contain any vodka.[9] A transfusion with orange juice substituted for the Sprite or ginger ale is a Madras.[10]. You can also make a Madras[11] with Cranberry Juice.

gollark: What? You literally cannot do that.
gollark: I'm aware. But those are bought from large companies in data centres and sometimes in clusters.
gollark: While GPU good and all, they can only do some cryptocurrencies usefully, and I think most AI people are not buying compute on random single nodes at home.
gollark: You need ASICs to get a noticeable amount of Bitcoin, and it probably isn't very free because you have in fact spent money on the components of this.
